Thanksgiving Scattergories Printable for Kids and Families
This Thanksgiving scattergories printable is a fast, funny word game for kids and families. Each round gives you one letter and 12 categories, and you try to write answers that start with that letter before time runs out.
The twist is the scoring. You only earn a point when nobody else wrote the same answer, so the best answers are the clever ones. There are six rounds, one page per round, so the game can last as long as your dinner needs.

I chose six friendly letters that are easy to use in every category, so nobody gets stuck on a hard letter.
How to Play
- Print one set of pages for every player.
- Pick a round and read the letter at the top of the page.
- Set a timer for two or three minutes and say go.
- Write one answer for each category that starts with the letter.
- When the timer ends, read your answers out loud one category at a time.
How to Score
Go through the categories one by one. If two or more players wrote the same answer, everyone who wrote it crosses it out. Every answer that stays gets one point. Add up the points for the round, then add up all six rounds to find the winner.
Simple Rules That Keep It Fair
- Answers must start with the letter on the page.
- Answers must be real things.
- If players disagree, hold a quick vote and let the majority decide.
- Skipping a category is allowed, it just earns no point.
Tip for little kids: give younger players a point for every answer they write, even if someone else wrote it too.

Tip: print on cardstock or slip the pages into clear sleeves and use dry erase markers, so you can play again next year.
